Royal Plaza Hotel Orlando

Location, location and location is one of the watchwords to look for when picking a hotel in Orlando. Vacationers the world over have come to our city only to be fooled into thinking that their hotel was located either in the parks or right at the entrance.

Lets take a look at the gorgeous Royal Plaza Resort Hotel that is located inside Disney World and right across the street from Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.

This resort also subs as a convention hotel with over 35,000 sq ft of convention space. To that end you will find the surroundings to be top shelf….even the most discriminating of traveler will find the Royal Plaza to his liking.

The hotel lobby is extremely spacious with vaulted ceilings and marble through out. Sitting areas and counter space remind this reviewer of an older established inn with its stately columns and exceptional furniture.

The service is top notch as one would expect that from a resort hotel located inside Disney World. Hospitality is spoken here as the staff goes out of its way to meet your every need.

The rooms are quite spacious an offer two queen beds, dresser, a large flat screen plasma television, desk and end tables. The room décor was simple (not cluttered) and decorated in Florida hues. It was extremely tasteful. You know how some hotels are gaudy…well that is not the case at the Royal Plaza, you will have a very good feeling when you enter your room and that will give you the peace of mind that you will definitely get a restful night sleep.

The pool area is exceptionally nice what with a cabana bar and restaurant which allows you to get a sandwich without having to go to your room change clothes and then head to the restaurant to eat.

The brand new restaurant called Giraffe Café is simply fantastic. The chef came out of the kitchen and greeted all guests checking to make sure the food was prepared to our likening…it has been a while since we have experienced that kind of treatment. By the way we found that kids 10 and under eat FREE when accompanied by their parents.

If you are flying to Orlando, this is a marvelous choice in accommodations. Limos are available from the airport to the hotel some 30 minutes away and then the fun begins. If you have little ones in your party, one room will be adequate for each room has two queen beds and a sofa that folds out and makes into a Queen as well.

Oh by the way…it has just been announced that the Royal Plaza is one of the very FIRST hotels both in Orlando as well as in Walt Disney World to receive the distinction of being a “Green Lodging” facility. What this means is that unique hotel has gone the extra mile according to the Florida State Green Lodging Program to be environmentally sensitive and provide initiatives to preserve the state’s environment.

A suggestion: we ordered our Disney World Tickets before hand and we were surprised that we were able to get a number of days FREE and what was so nice, these tickets were not part of a time share promotion. This made the trip even that much more pleasurable. The excessive cost for a Disney World Vacation is really not in the hotel expense…nor does it have to do with the restaurant cost for meals, but you will surely think long and hard about your need to purchase daily theme park tickets for the entire family. Here you will find the average costs for a family of four comes out to about $300 including tax per day…in our case we were looking for a lot of help in this area and found it through a package that included the lovely accommodations to Royal Plaza.

It is important to book early for they only have a limited number of rooms that they offer at a special discount. According to what we were told they sell a very small number of rooms at the wholesale prices found on this site to assist them in managing what little vacancy they may have.
