The Holiday Inn Maingate East Orlando is one of the newest hotels in Kissimmee, Florida. In the Spring of 2007 a couple of investors decided to buy what was then a pretty run down Travelodge hotel, and they quickly infused $15 million into the property. Seven short months later those same investors hung the Holiday Inn Sign outside and re-opened for business.

The hotel offer the following amenities: two great swimming pools, a media room for children, a great lounge, a large games room, internet access and computer room, and a great restaurant. In addition to these amenities there are two exclusive Holiday Inn Specials which really set this hotel apart from the competition:

1. Holiday Inn Kids Eat Free Program- Children 12 years of age or younger may eat free breakfast and dinner (two kids can eat free with one paying adult).

2. Holiday Inn Kidsuite Room- Normally this room is a $20 upgrade up for a limited time Orlandovacation.com will be offering this room for the same price as a standard room. The Kidsuite room is the same size as a standard room; however, we have taken out both double beds and included one queen size bed for the adults and we built three quarter wall built where the other double bed used to sit. This wall creates a small area for the kids and we have decorated it with a bunk bed and TV with a game play system. The Kidsuites are always a hit with the children.

The Holiday Inn is located directly across the street from Fun Spot, which happens to be one of the best budget theme parks in all Orlando, and there are literally 30 restuarants and shops within walking distance.

The front desk staff at the Holiday Inn Maingate East hotel was great, and the hotel had a lot of activities for my children to do. It was a little cramped in my room with three teenagers, but that would be expected.

The Holiday Inn in Orlando which we stayed at was not as nice as we had hoped. They have a lot of activities for the children, but not much for the adults other a small lounge. This would be a great hotel for a family but not for two older women. We were stranded at Disney World because the shuttle service only runs a couple of times during the day, wished we would have known this before we left the hotel.
